POS Recommendations to
Customers The following are letters written to
International Point of Sale customers advising on
different products. This information is meant to help
customers make well informed decisions regarding what
equipment would be right for them.
Full System
running CRE: I'd recommend the Elo 15" Series
3000 Flat Panel USB monitor. It's the most popular.
Your cost is $789. Or you can get a Series
1000 for $575. But that is a serial port so you'd
need an open serial port for that one. Only difference
is in the resolution, but you don't need such high
resolution for our POS program.
The Metrologic
Voyager series is a good scanner to start off on. It's a
single line laser scanner. Difference between the 9520
and 9540 is
the latter has a trigger that gives you more control
with scanning. Thse are $164 and $169 respectively. If
you want a more aggressive handheld scanner, go with the
MS6720. It has 20 laser beams in all different
directions so that you merely have to pass the item
through it and you'll get a scan; no need to line up the
barcode.
The only real option for pole display is
the Logic
Controls PD-3000. Serial is $179 and USB is $199.
Unless you want to go with a table top display (no
pole). Those are similarly priced.
For receipt
printing, the Epson
TM-T88III has been and still is our champ. It's
fast, quiet, and has an autocutter. It's $299. Also has
special couponing features and can print out a
logo.
All cash drawers are pretty much the same
except they differ in size. The Val-u
line is a great value. It's only $89 and has 2 media
slots.
Different prices for different
customers Thanks for showing interest in our POS
systems. Our software, Cash
Register Express can handle charge accounts for
customers. I know of many hardware stores that have a
big book of customers that has to be flipped through for
each price. Not so with CRE... You can have a different
price for each item for each customer. And it is all
automated, so your employees need only to ring up the
sale. Are most of your items barcoded? Do you cut the
lumber to make different sizes? I'd like to talk to you
on the phone to understand your needs more. There are
many factors that can effect price, such as whether you
want to accept credit cards, debits, back office
computer. First thing you might want to do is to
download a free trial version of Cash Register Express
from our download page. It's got some sample databases
you can get your feet wet in. I can walk you through it
over the phone and show you its main
features.
Teaching employees how to use
CRE Don't worry about teaching your employees how
to use Cash Register Express. Our
software was not made for computer people, it was made
for store owners and cashiers. It's easier than a
regular register.
